SURVIVOR

Dr. Williams is a survivor of rape, domestic violence, homelessness, and a 17-year marriage to a man later convicted as a rapist. A profound result of writing Whose Apple is it Anyway! was seven years of shedding layers of trauma, disappointment, and destiny-diverting heartbreak.

As a life coach and behaviorist, Linda, helps others to turn pain to power by rooting out emotional mind-fields that keep them stuck on the wrong side of destiny's door. She knows, from experience, the courage it takes to face down the past; and she is living proof that, “A lifetime of change is empowered by a single act of courage.”

EARLY LIFE

Can't Take the City Out of the Girl!

Although from age nine to eighteen, she lived in a rural area of Michigan, Coach Linda will tell you. "I am Chicago born, Chicago bred, and forever a Chicago Girl!"

A high-school honor student, Linda participated in speech and drama, going all the way to State finals in Forensics. She is one of five siblings and the daughter of the late Junius "Bill" Williams and the late Frances Williams. She is the proud mother of Karl and Kisha, who have given her four grandchildren.

LIFE COACH

"Losing sight of hope and purpose is like falling asleep at the wheel, you don’t know you’re asleep until you’re waking up."

Dr. Linda holds a Doctor of Social Work in Social Policy, a Masters of Social Work in Advanced Clinical Practice, and a Graduate Certification in Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling. Dr. Linda addresses the psychological and spiritual implications of the Proverb that says, “As a man thinks, so is that man.” She recognizes how traumatic events and other painful experiences can immobilize our talents, skills, and abilities. Now, she takes survivors of abuse and trauma from pain to purpose so that they take back their power, tap into the truth of who they are, and live their best life now!

EXECUTIVE COACH

"The only effective change is sustainable change."

As Executive Coach, Business Consultant, behaviorist, and Award-Winning Change Agent, Linda holds a bachelor degree in Organizational Leadership from Calvin University. She is experienced in organizational change, cultural transformation, authentic leadership, and emotional intelligence.

With almost 37-years in public administration and 7 years as a labor-management leader, she has negotiated national collective bargaining agreements and the largest restructure in her federal agency history. She is also experienced in interest-based bargaining and labor-management partnerships.

A dynamic change agent, Linda equips leaders with tools that empower the individual change that results in real and sustainable outcomes to personal well-being and organizational productivity.

Songwriting credits

One day Dr. Williams was invited, by a studio musician she knew, to attend a recording session. She had no idea how accepting that invitation would result in one of her proudest accomplishments. She walked into a Universal Recording Studio session in which Tyrone Davis was recording his remake of "How Sweet it is to be Loved by You" and she was hooked! Having full access to this major and historical recording studio, she could drop in at any time; and so she did.

During one of those impromptu visits she stepped into Studio A while the Chilites were recording their "Hot on a Thing" project, met the producer, and there she was for the next 3-years. Dr. Williams became a co-writer with, and protégé of, Grammy-Winning Songwriter and Arranger, the late Eugene B. Record. Mr. Record was the lead singer for the Chilites and wrote the international hits: "Oh Girl," "Have You Seen Her," "Soulful Strut," and "For God’s Sake We’ve Got to Get More Power to the People."

Writing under the name of L. F. Butler and L. Frances Butler, Ms. Williams had three releases by the Chilites:

You Take the Cake

Do What You Want

Hard Act to Follow

DO WHAT YOU WANT
